General Announcement:

If you are needing to reschedule your booking due to the COVID19 restrictions currently in place please contact us. We will be more than happy to rebook new dates or offer an alternative online or digital format for your booking if we are not able to present live. If you would like to know more about how we can support your school in this way please let us know. Additionally, we have launched Real Talk Education which provides online learning lessons for primary and secondary school teachers. Covid-19 External Policy Announcement:

This policy will be updated regularly (current as of Sept 2022). Please refer to the latest Public Health advice for general updates.

1)  GENERAL PRACTICES

  • Real Talk employees and presenters will follow all relevant Health Department, National Government, State Government and Education Office advice regarding best practices.

  • Real Talk to follow and enact all school-initiated requests as long as they don’t contravene Government Public Health regulations.

  • Real Talk will endeavour to alter any seminar/day to meet the school’s needs. (E.g. A full day Reflection Day may be presented as a single seminar to smaller groups)

  • Staff and students are to maintain a high level of hygiene and transmission preventative measures in regular operations.

    These include:

    • Regular hand-washing including hand washing at each break and upon entering the school grounds

    • Limiting unnecessary contact (Facilitators may alter activities to limit unnecessary contact depending on school and regulatory requirements)

    • Social distancing. Where required or requested Real Talk staff to maintain 1.5m separation from students/staff.

    • Real Talk employees, school staff, and students are to avoid contact with people if they;

      • are experiencing cold and flu-like symptoms.

      • have confirmed infection of COVID19 in the last 7 days.

2)    REGARDING CANCELLATIONS and POSTPONING

  • Please see our current Cancellation Policy which forms part of our booking agreement.

  • Real Talk will hold all confirmed bookings and will not cancel on any school without communication.

  • Real Talk will make every effort to accommodate all reasonable requests.

  • Real Talk has a studio and has developed new and exciting ways to present via live video. Real Talk will offer live video alternatives if “in person” seminars are not possible.

  • Real Talk will hold all deposits and prepayments as credit for rescheduled bookings.

  • Schools are welcome to cancel or postpone a booking at late notice (<1 month) if staff and student numbers are effected by illness/Covid. Real Talk reserves the right to retain the deposit to compensate for expenses incurred (E.g. wages for staff allocated to that day). If postponement is unavoidable (E.g. mandated restrictions) the deposit can be retained for future bookings.

3)    REGARDING SCHOOL VISITS (see also #4 below)

  • For external venues (outside of school grounds) Real Talk will follow the policies in place at these venues and will encourage all students to do the same. It is the role of the agent (school staff member who booked the external venue) to implement the COVID-19 instructions specified by the venue. These may include the provision of a hand sanitiser, additional bathroom cleaning, etc.

  • We encourage all students attending our seminar/reflection day to follow any procedures implemented by their own school (rather than us implement anything that may be contradictory to their school instruction).

  • Real Talk presenters will take hygiene and precautionary measures whilst on-site, limiting contact with staff and students if required.

  • We have altered activities to limit unnecessary contact. Any usual contact required for activities (e.g. hand touching of another student) will be removed to limit unnecessary contact if required or requested.

  • Real Talk will act on all confirmed official policies (e.g. Health and Government) and follow school requests as promptly as possible.

4)    REGARDING COVID TESTING/VACCINATIONS AND MASKS

  • Real Talk staff visiting schools have varied levels of vaccination status and exemptions. Most, but not all, are fully vaccinated/boosted. Nationally, it is now commonplace to allow people who were unable to be fully vaccinated to visit or work as contractors in schools. If individual schools require evidence of vaccination status we ask schools to notify Real Talk in advance. Any cost for late notification of school requirements will be at the schools expense. Information regarding individual school policies may be required during the booking process.

  • Real Talk is happy to take a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) in the 48hrs leading up to our visit upon request. It is standard practice before trips for presenters to take a RAT if they have had any recent symptoms or been in contact with confirmed cases.

  • Real Talk will follow school (& government) guidelines regarding mask wearing. Our default practice is to follow the guidelines and practice of staff and students at the presenting venue.

Thank-you for your patience and understanding. We are praying for you and your students everyday as a team!
